Golden Globes 2024: Ali Wong makes Asian ‘herstory’ for winning best actress for 'Beef'

Let’s hear it for the Asian representation at Golden Globes 2024!

Ali Wong, who portrayed the role of Amy Lau in the Netflix series “Beef,” just made "herstory" as the first Asian to win best actress in the limited series or TV movie category at this year’s Golden Globes.

This is Ali’s first nomination and first win at the Golden Globes.

“I really need to thank Sung Jin so much for creating such a beautiful show and inviting me to be part of it,” Ali said in her acceptance speech.

“I really need to thank the father of my children and my best friend, Justin, for all your love and support,” she added. “It’s because of you that I [became] a working mother.”

The Golden Globes 2024 is currently being held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. Fil-Am comedian Jo Koy is host.
