Billie Eilish comes out as gay: 'I am for the girls'

Billie Eilish came out as gay in the November cover story of Variety magazine.

The Grammy and Oscars winner, however, said she didn't intend to "make a grand gesture" out of it.

In a report from Variety, Billie said she thought that people already knew about her sexuality and thought she didn't need to come out any longer.

"Wasn't it obvious?" Billie said. "I didn't realize people didn't know. I just don't really believe in it. I'm just like, 'Why can't we just exist'?"

"It's exciting to me because I guess people didn't know, but it's cool that they know," she added. "I am for the girls."

Billie and her brother Finneas were the masterminds behind "What Was I Made For?" which was the official soundtrack of the film "Barbie," directed by Greta Gerwig. "Barbie" starred Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, America Ferrara, Kate McKinnon, Issa Rae, Rhea Perlman, Dua Lipa, and Will Ferrell.

In August 2022, Billie was in the Philippines for her sold-out "Happier Than Ever" concert in Manila. —Hermes Tunac/JCB, GMA Integrated News
