Ruru Madrid reunites with Philip Salvador for 'Black Rider'

Ruru Madrid and Philip Salvador have reunited for their upcoming actoin-packed series, "Black Rider!"

According to Cata Tibayan’s report on "24 Oras," Friday, it has been over a decade since Philip guided Ruru as his mentor in the GMA reality talent show "Protege: The Battle for the Big Artista Break."

Ruru shared that he had told Philip before about his desire to do an action project.

"Noon pa man, talagang sinasabi ko na kay Tatay Ipe, sabi ko, ‘Tay, gusto ko po talagang gumawa ng action. Pero sabi niya sa 'kin ng mga panahon na yun, 'Nako, anak, wala pang maniniwala sa’yo, payat mo pa.' Kaya ayun, nag-pursige po akong mag-workout, nag-training po talaga ako," Ruru said.

GMA Integrated News visited one of their shooting locations in Tanay, Rizal, where Philip showed he was proud of Ruru.

"Oh, tignan mo bida ng 'Black Rider.' So totoong nangyayari, 'di ba? Magaling nang umarte, magaling pang tumanggap ng sakit," Philip said.

Philip will portray the character of Mariano, the martial arts teacher of Ruru’s role.

They will be joined by their "Black Rider" co-stars Yassi Pressman, Kylie Padilla, Matteo Guidicelli, Jon Lucas, Rainier Castillo, Katrina Halili, Zoren Legaspi, Gladys Reyes, Empoy, Jayson Gainza, Janus del Prado, and many more.
