Olivia Rodrigo wrote a song for 'The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes'
Olivia Rodrigo is on a roll!
The Fil-Am singer-songwriter just wrote a song for the upcoming film, “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes.”
In a film teaser on her Instagram page, Olivia is heard singing a powerful ballad. It's called “Can’t Catch Me Now” and it comes out on Friday, November 3.
Olivia said on Instagram that she is, “soooo beyond excited that I got the opportunity to write a song for ‘The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes.’”
“The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes” is a prequel to “The Hunger Games” book and film franchise. The book, written by Suzanne Collins, was released in 2020.
The prequel follows a younger Coriolanus Snow (Tom Blyth) assigned to mentor Lucy Gray Baird (Rachel Zegler), a tribute from the impoverished District 12.
But as Lucy charms the audience of Panem, Snow sees an opportunity to shift their fates—and turn the odds in their favor.
The cast also includes "Game of Thrones" star Peter Dinklage and "How to Get Away With Murder" star Viola Davis.
"The Hunger Games" is set in a dystopian post-apocalyptic future where tributes are chosen to compete in a televised fight to the death. It is also set to be a stage play to open in 2024.
Meanwhile, Olivia released her sophomore album “GUTS” last September. It includes the singles “vampire,” “bad idea right?” and “get him back!”
