G-Dragon denies alleged drug use, vows to 'actively cooperate' with police probe

G-Dragon has denied reports of drug use.

In a statement through his lawyer published by Soompi, the South Korean star said there is "no truth to the [claim] that I have taken drugs."

“I have no relation to the news reports about the violation of the Act on the Control of Narcotics, Etc. that was recently revealed in the media,” G-Dragon said.

“However, because I know many people are concerned, I will actively cooperate with police investigations and will participate even more diligently,” he added.

It was reported on Thursday that the K-pop artist was booked without detention by the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency on the charge of violating the Act on the Control of Narcotics, Etc.

Authorities are expected to call him in for questioning in the coming days, Yonhap News Agency reported.

Following the news, G-Dragon’s former agency YG Entertainment told Xportsnews, “[G-Dragon] is currently not an artist under our agency, so it is difficult for us to make an official response.”

His exclusive contract with the agency expired in June.

G-Dragon rose to fame as the leader of BIGBANG, which debuted in 2006. He released his first solo album “Heartbreaker” in 2009. His solo hits include “Untitled, 2014,” “CROOKED,” “Without You (feat. ROSE),” and more.
