Chris Evans reportedly tied the knot with Alba Baptista in a ceremony at a private estate in Cape Cod, Massachusetts on Saturday.
The news certainly made headlines because well, that's 42-year-old Chris Evans we're talking about! People Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive of 2022!
But who is Alba Baptista and how was she able to capture Captain America's heart? Well, below are somethings we learned about her that prove Alba is a beautiful woman inside and out.
Here are five things you need to know about Alba:
1. The basics on Alba
She was born in Lisbon, Portugal on July 10, 1997, making her 26 years old.
She has a Brazilian father who is an engineer and a Portuguese mother, a translator.
2. Alba is a top actress
According to a GQ Portugal interview, Alba got into acting at 15 years old when she attended a casting for a short film, and she was one of the 200 girls.
IMDB meanwhile says she started her mainstream career in Portugal in the 2014 series “Jardins Proibidos,” appearing in 310 episodes. Since then, she's acted in Portuguese films and shows.
Alba made her English-language debut on the Netflix series “Warrior Nun,” where she stars as Ava, an orphan who wakes up in a morgue and discovers that she has superpowers to fight demons.
In 2021, Alba was among the artists honored with the Shooting Star Award at the Berlinale Film Festival.
3. Alba loves the great outdoors
A quick scroll through Alba’s Instagram page shows she loves traveling the world. The actress’ feed is made up of trips to an art museum in Cuba, a temple in Myanmar, and many different beaches.
She even camped at the Mount Rinjani Crater Rim in Indonesia.
4. She has a big heart
Not only is Alba very beautiful, she is also very intelligent and has a very big heart.
Did you know she speaks five languages? Apart from her native Portuguese, Alba also speaks English, Spanish, French, and German.
Those language skills were definitely put to good use because Alba once did humanitarian work at an orphanage in Cambodia. People Magazine said she focused on education.
5. Relationship with Chris
According to People, it was Chris Evans who first followed Alba on Instagram in 2020, "when both were filming projects in Europe."
She followed him back in 2021, which happens to be the same year they reportedly started dating.
The following year, in November 2022, Alba and Chris’ relationship was first reported.
On Valentine's Day 2023, Chris shared plenty photos with Alba on his Instagram Stories. They went IG-official last January.
In an interview, Chris said marriage was "absolutely something I want."
