Sophie Turner, Joe Jonas release statement amid divorce, ask for privacy

Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas have broken their silence after news of their divorce went public.

On Instagram, Wednesday, the "Game of Thrones" star shared a joint statement and tagged the American singer-songwriter.

"After four wonderful years of marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage," their statement read.

"There are many speculative narratives as to why but, truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children."

According to a report from TODAY.com, Joe's petition for dissolution of marriage stated that "the marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken."

Fans first speculated about their split after Joe did not wear his wedding band on multiple occasions.

Joe and Sophie met in 2016 and tied the knot in May 2019. They welcomed their first child in 2020 and another daughter in 2022.
