Blackpink's Jennie joins 'The idol' co-stars Troye Sivan, Lily Rose Depp and The Weeknd at Cannes Film Festival
No wonder Blackpink Jennie has been trending on Twitter all day Wednesday!
The South Korean pop star made her Cannes Film Festival debut for the premiere of "The Idol," a forthcoming series on HBO.
On Instagram, Australian singer-songwriter Troye Sivan, who also headlines "The Idol" shared snaps from the prestigious event with his co-stars including The Weeknd aka Abel Tesfaye, Lily Rose Depp, and of course Jennie who stole the show in a gorgeous lace midi dress by Chanel, Vogue reports.
"I love these people so much, shit’s crazy," Troye wrote in the caption of his post. "Cannes [with] The Idol," he added, tagging the official IG account of the show.
The brainchild of "Euphoria" creator Sam Levinson, "The Idol" follows a self-help guru (Tesfaye), who develops a complicated relationship with an aspiring pop idol (Depp) in crisis following her mother's death.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jennie, who plays the Dyanne, saw the series as “an opportunity to just be myself and be brave. I didn’t really train for it, or prep anything. Sam wanted me to just be myself.”
