Blackpink earns new Guinness World Record for YouTube’s Most Viewed Group Music Channel
Blackpink has set a new Guinness World Record yet again!
Earlier this month, Guinness World Records (GWR) announced that Blackpink has earned the title for the most-viewed group music channel on YouTube for amassing 30,151,716,121 views as of April 12.
The title was previously held by American pop-rock band Maroon 5, with nine billion views on YouTube in 2018.
According to GWR, Blackpink’s “DDU-DU DDU-DU” music video, released in June 2018, became the first K-Pop group music video with over two billion views.
The new GWR follows Blackpink's multiple GWR sweep in 2020, when their "How You Like That" music video broke a number of GWR titles including:
- Most viewed YouTube video in 24 hours
- Most viewed music video on YouTube in 24 hours
- Most viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours by a K-pop group
Formed in 2016, Blackpink is a South Korean girl group consists of members Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa. — LA, GMA Integrated News
