SUGA from BTS aka Agust D asks questions about love and relationships in collab with IU, ‘People Pt.2’
We expected nothing less from SUGA’s latest track, “People Pt.2” featuring IU, released under his alter ego, Agust D.
In true Agust D fashion, “People Pt.2” has got lots of questions, plus themes of looking back at the past and self-discovery.
Alongside IU’s soulful vocals, Agust D raps about being cautious when it comes to love because of the loss and loneliness that comes along with it. Still, the BTS member and solo artist craves a sincere connection.
The music video takes place in a mansion where Agust D is seen writing and recording the song.
Before the video ends, the artist talks about the song. He said he wrote it when he “couldn’t do anything due to COVID-19, when I thought, ‘I lost everything.’”
Agust D added, “People told me that the song tells a story I wanted to share with others and that it also seems I’m talking to myself, which is true.”
He said, “So it conveys the message I wanted to tell myself.”
Within the first hour of its release, "People Pt. 2" has already generated an impressive 1.1M views on YouTube.
This is SUGA and IU’s second collaboration following “Eight.” And in case you were wondering why it's called "People Pt. 2," Agust D had the track called "People" in his 2020 mixtape "D-2."
His upcoming album “D-Day” and the documentary “SUGA: Road to D-DAY” will both be released on April 21.
