J-Hope of BTS officially announces military enlistment
J-Hope of BTS has officially announced his upcoming military enlistment.
According to a statement by his agency BigHit Music, the South Korean rapper and dancer will enlist in the South Korean army, but will hold no official event on the day of his entry.
No exact date has been revealed.
Regardless, the label asked fans to refrain from visiting the enlistment site, saying the ceremony is to be observed by military personnel and family only.
"Instead, we ask you to keep your heartwarming words of support and farewell in your hearts," they said.
"We ask for your continued love and support for J-Hope until he completes his military service and returns," they added. "Our company will also strive to provide the support he needs during this time."
J-Hope is the second BTS member to fulfill his mandatory military service in South Korea.
Eldest member Jin enlisted in December. Recently, J-Hope and Jimin visited him at his camp, and the whole group reunited to have dinner during Jin's vacation.
The supergroup is expected to reconvene in 2025. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
