Amanda Bynes placed on 72-hour psychiatric hold after walking in public naked

Amanda Bynes has been placed on a 72-hour psychiatric hold.

According to the TODAY Show Online, the actress sought for help herself after walking around downtown Los Angeles naked. She flagged down a car, told the driver she was coming down from a "psychotic episode," and called 911.

The former child star was under a personal conservatorship for nine years. During that period, her mom had control over her finances and personal affairs.

In 2022, the conservatorship was terminated. The termination was supported by her parents, Lynn and Rick Bynes.

The TODAY Show online also reported that according to court documents, she has been living in a "structured community for women" since 2022.

Bynes has a history of abusing substances like the ADHD medication Adderall, but in 2018, said she has been sober for "almost four years." She was also diagnosed with bipolar affective disorder and manic depression.

Known for starring in movies like "Easy A" and "She's All That," Bynes was scheduled to reunite with her Nickelodeon co-stars at the 90s Con in the USA last March 17-19, but cancelled her appearance. —Kimberly Tsao/JCB, GMA Integrated News
