Demi Moore shares video of ex-husband Bruce Willis' birthday celebration at home: 'Love you and love our family'
After being diagnosed with brain diseases, Bruce Willis looks to be in good spirits to mark his 68th birthday.
On social media, Demi Moore, his ex-wife whom he remains friendly with, posted a video of the family singing "Happy Birthday" to Bruce.
"So glad we could celebrate you today. Love you and love our family" Demi said.
"Thank you to everyone for the love and warm wishes — we all feel them," she added.
Their daughter Scout also posted the same video and said "today has been profoundly joyful."
"HAPPY BW’S BIRTHDAY TO ALL WHO CELEBRATE !!!!" She added clearly happy and excited.
Their other daughters Rumer and Tallulah each posted a birthday greeting for their father on social media, too.
Bruce, known for action films like "Armageddon" and the "Die Hard" franchise, retired from acting after being diagnosed with aphasia, a disease affecting the part of the brain responsible for language expression and comprehension.
According to NBC News, Bruce's aphasia has progressed to frontotemporal dementia (FTD), which affects language, personality, and behavior.
Bruce's wife, entrepreneur Emma Heming Willis joined the celebrations, posting a different kind of message on her Instagram Stories, which she also uploaded as a reel on Instagram.
She said she started the day crying, saying, “I do have times of sadness every day, grief, every day, and I’m really feeling it today on his birthday.”
"But the silver lining or the flip side is that I’m so lucky to feel your warmth and love that is directed to my husband and our family," she wrote in the caption.
In another video of Bruce, she called him "pure love."
In a separate Instagram post, Scout wrote, "Today is not necessarily an easy day, because it’s a day full of so deep love, and our grief really does show us the depth of our loving for someone. So I’m trying to be with both today."
"Grief is a price I’ll always pay to know what it is to feel such love," she added.
Bruce and Demi divorced in 2000, while Bruce and Emma married in 2009. They also have two daughters, Mabel and Evelyn.
