SUGA of BTS donates to Turkey and Syria earthquake victims on his birthday
SUGA of BTS turned a year older on Thursday, and he made his annual birthday donation to the victims of the earthquake that ravaged Turkey and Syria.
According to a report on Soompi, the South Korean superstar donated 100 million won (roughly P4.1 million) to Save the Children.
The non-government organization will utilize the donation for winter blankets, mattresses, school supplies, and other necessities.
“So many children and families have suffered great damage from this earthquake. I send my condolences to the survivors and victims. I hope that this becomes at least a bit of help to children affected by the earthquake and hope this [donation] is used to provide relief goods for children,” SUGA said in a statement.
His fellow members J-Hope and Jimin also donated 100 million won to UNICEF for those affected by the earthquake. Soompi said that BTS’ agency HYBE also donated 500 million won, or roughly P20 million to Save the Children.
Born Min Yoongi, Suga is set to embark on his first solo tour as Agust D. Last year, he donated 100 million won for the victims of massive wildfires that blazed South Korea's eastern coastal area. —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA Integrated News
