Dolly de Leon meets Hollywood director Edgar Wright, who said he'll vote her at the Oscars despite no nomination
It's a small world, especially in Hollywood.
On the awards circuit, Filipino actress Dolly de Leon met director Edgar Wright ("Scott Pilgrim vs. the World"), who earlier said he'll vote for her anyway at the Oscars despite no nomination.
Posting photos from a couple of parties she recently attended, Dolly shared the who's who she's met there. "Finally had face time with Greg Williams (took the first two photos) whom I had so much fun with at the British Vogue shoot and Edgar Wright whose Shaun of the Dead is up there on my list of favorite comedies."
"What a night," she added, saying it was "an evening I’ll never forget."
If you'll recall, Wright took to Twitter in January saying "I'm still writing Dolly De Leon on my ballot" after de Leon was left out in the Oscar race.
In a recent press conference, Dolly admitted crying over the snub, saying “Ang initial reaction ko talaga, umiyak ako, nalungkot ako."
It took her two days before she was finally able to move on, Dolly added.
While Dolly is coming from a BAFTA loss, where Kerry Condon of "Banshees of Inisherin" took home the award for Best Supporting Actress, the Filipino actress still looked like a winner at the awards ceremony in a Rajo Laurel dress.
She said it was a "huge honor" to become the first Filipina nominated in the British Academy Film Awards.
