Taylor Swift is the highest-paid female entertainer in the world, only woman on Forbes' top 10 list
Taylor Swift as the highest-paid female entertainer in the world, according to Forbes magazine.
Earning a whopping $92 million in 2022, Taylor is tucked in sweetly at the no. 9 spot on Forbes' list making her the only woman in the top 10 list.
Rock band Genesis with singer Phil Collins is at no. 1 with $230 million.
Completing the top 10 are singer Sting, filmmaker Tyler Perry, "South Park" show creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, "The Simpsons" creators James Brooks and Matt Groening, actor Brad Pitt, rock band The Rolling Stones, "Avatar" director James Cameron, and reggae rapper and singer Bad Bunny.
According to CNBC, approximately 70% of Taylor’s $92 million profit came from her past albums, including revenue from album sales, streaming, digital downloads, and licensing.
This year may be an even better year for Taylor as the musician begins her Eras Tour in March, which comes with a potential 9-figure payout.
Taylor is also a 12-time Grammy winner and was the first artist in history to claim the top 10 spots on the Billboard Hot 100. She released her latest music album, “Midnights,” in October 2022.
Last year, “Lord of the Rings” director Peter Jackson clinched the no. 1 spot on Forbes' list with $580 million earnings in 2021 after selling part of his visual effects firm Weta Digital to Unity Software for $1.6 billion in November 2021.
Forbes formed the list based on the entertainers’ total 2022 earnings -- pre-tax and minus fees for representation like managers and lawyers and business operating costs.
