Anya Taylor Joy didn't tease 'The Queen's Gambit' sequel, clarifies her Twitter account was hacked
Hold your horses, people. That simple "The Queen's Gambit 2" tweet from Anya Taylor Joy's account isn't so much a teaser of a sequel as it is a hack job.
Over the weekend on Twitter, Anya supposedly posted "The Queen's Gambit 2," exciting plenty fans all over the world. It got at least 4,733 likes and was viewed more than 30,000 times.
But on Instagram Stories Monday, Anya informed her fans that her Twitter account was hacked.
"My Twitter account was hacked - apologies for all inconveniences. It's not me," she clarified.
"The Queen's Gambit" focused on Beth Harmon (Anya Taylor Joy), an orphaned child prodigy, who went on to become the greatest chess player in the world.
When it was released in October 2020, it became Netflix's most streamed limited series. "The Queen's Gambit" also went to win 11 Emmy Awards.
According to "E! News," after winning the Emmys in September 2021, Scott Frank, the show's creator, said, "I'm so sorry, I hate disappointing anyone. I feel like we told the story we wanted to tell, and I worry, or let me put it differently, I'm terrified that if we tried to tell more, we would ruin what we've already told." — LA, GMA Integrated News
