Lady Gaga reacts to Taylor Swift opening up on her eating disorder: 'That's really brave'

Trigger warning: This article contains a discussion of eating disorders.

Lady Gaga just lauded Taylor Swift for being brave in opening up about her eating disorder.

On TikTok, a clip from Taylor's 2020 Netflix documentary "Miss Americana" circulated online, where the American pop star talked about her past struggles with body dysmorphia and an eating disorder.

According to the "Bejeweled" hitmaker, she used to defend herself against anyone who expressed concern about her health.

"I was like, 'what are you talking about? Of course, I eat. It's perfectly normal. I just exercise a lot,'" she said. "And I did exercise a lot, but I wasn't eating."

"I don't think you know you're doing that [eating disorder] when you're doing it gradually," Taylor added.

She went on to share her realization that some beauty standards are just impossible to meet.

"If you're thin enough, then you don't have that ass that everybody wants, but if you have enough weight on you to have an ass, your stomach is not flat enough," she said. "It's all just impossible."

In the clip uploaded by a Tiktok user @angclswift, Lady Gaga expressed her admiration for Taylor's braveness to open up.

"That's really brave everything you said [black heart emoji] wow," Lady Gaga commented.

In 2012, Lady Gaga revealed that she had suffered from bulimia and anorexia since she was 15, as reported by Billboard.

In 2014, the "Born This Way" hitmaker said that she doesn't suffer from an eating disorder anymore, as told on ABC News.
