Dave Bautista reveals why he covered Manny Pacquiao tattoo
Filipino-American actor Dave Bautista has revealed why he decided to cover the Manny Pacquiao tattoo in his left arm.
In an interview with American magazine GQ posted on TikTok, the "Guardians of the Galaxy" star did not mention Pacquiao by name but said his previous tattoo was a team logo.
Bautista had it covered with a woman sporting a skull face painting.
"I was part of a team of a person I considered a friend and someone I really looked up to. And then, he later came out publicly with some anti-gay statements and turned out to be an extreme homophobe," he said.
"So, I had a huge issue with it. It's a personal issue with me, my mom's a lesbian. And I just could no longer call him a friend," he added.
GMA Integrated News reached out to Pacquiao for comment but has yet to receive a response as of writing.
Pacquiao made controversial comments on LGBT people back in 2016 when he first ran for senator. He later apologized and clarified that he is against same-sex marriage but not homosexuality in general.
He addressed the issue again when he ran for president last year. He said he is not in favor of same-sex marriage and claimed that he has lots of LGBT supporters.
