BIGBANG's Daesung leaves YG Entertainment, Taeyang signs with new label

BIGBANG members Daesung and Taeyang have made huge career moves, based on announcements released by YG Entertainment on Wednesday.

As his contract with YG expired, Taeyang signed with THEBLACKLABEL. The agency is an associate company of YG.

“There is no change in the fact that Taeyang is a BIGBANG member and part of the YG Family. We know that many are waiting for BIGBANG’s activities, so we will work together for this,” the label said.

They added that they will support Taeyang’s creative endeavors and called on fans to continue supporting his musical journey.

Meanwhile, YG announced that Daesung has also left the agency after 16 years.

“Daesung has decided to end his contract with us,” their statement said. “He’s looking for a fresh start.”

“The fact that Daesung is a BIGBANG member has not changed,” they added. “We support Daesung’s choice and new start, and we are always open to cooperating with him.”

As for member G-Dragon, YG said, “We are still in the midst of contract negotiations.”

Member T.O.P. also left the agency early this year.
