DJ Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss from ‘The Ellen Show’ has died at 40
DJ Stephen “tWitch” Boss of “The Ellen Show” and “So You Think You Can Dance” fame has died at 40.
TMZ reported the news, saying Stephen’s wife Allison Holker went to an LAPD station and “was frantic because she said Stephen had left home without his car—something that was not like him at all.”
The report added that paramedics got a call for a medical emergency at an LA hotel, and that tWitch was found “dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.”
In a statement sent to TMZ, Allison said “Stephen lit up every room he stepped into. He valued family, friends and community above all else and leading with love and light was everything to him.”
She added, “He was the backbone of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his fans. To say he left a legacy would be an understatement, and his positive impact will continue to be felt. I am certain there won’t be a day that goes by that we won’t honor his memory.”
“Stephen, we love you, we miss you, and I will always save the last dance for you,” Allison said.
Ellen also paid tribute to tWitch on social media, saying her heart is broken.
“I’m heartbroken. tWitch was pure love and light. He was my family, and I loved him with all my heart. I will miss him. Please send your love and support to Allison and his beautiful children - Weslie, Maddox, and Zaia,” the talk show host said alongside a photo of them hugging.
tWitch got his big break in showbiz in 2008 when he emerged as the runner-up on “So You Think You Can Dance.”
He started DJing on “The Ellen Show” in 2014 until the show ended in May 2022. He also started serving as an executive producer in 2020. Stephen also did some acting with roles in the “Step Up” movie franchise and in “Magic Mike XXL.” — LA, GMA Integrated News
