Louis Tomlinson on Harry Styles: 'He really fits the mold of a modern star'
Though they’ve been focusing on their solo careers, Louis Tomlinson is still pretty much updated and supportive of fellow One Direction member Harry Styles’ career.
According to an E! Online report, citing The Telegraph, Louis admitted to feeling bothered with Harry rising to stardom after the group took a hiatus. He, however, knew the “As It Was” singer deserved it.
“I’d be lying if I said it didn’t bother me at first,” he said. “Only because I didn’t know where to place myself, and really my only point of reference was other members of the band.”
“But it’s not surprising to me that Harry’s the most commercially successful because he really fits the mold of a modern star,” he added.
With Harry also pursuing his career in acting, Louis said he has “a lot of pride for what he is doing.”
Louis said that they’ve been staying in touch, along with other members Niall Horan, Liam Payne, and Zayn Malik. In fact, they broke social media silence to mark their 10th anniversary in 2020.
“We check in on each other, we’re good like that,” he said. “‘Because we have lived through such experiences together in One Direction, this bond that we have is for life.”
One Direction, formed on “X Factor,” took an indefinite hiatus as a group in 2016. They have since been making their own names in the music industry.
As for Louis, he has a new album titled “Faith in the Future” coming out Friday. —Franchesca Viernes/JCB, GMA Integrated News
