NIKI releases acoustic version of ‘Before’ and cover of ‘You’ll Be in My Heart’

NIKI released two surprise singles: an acoustic version of “Before” and a cover of the Phil Collins classic “You’ll Be in My Heart.”

“Surprise! I recorded TWO spotify singles at Spotify Studios," the singer-songwriter wrote on Twitter, tagging the streaming giant's new program.

"The first is an acoustic version of ‘Before’, the way I originally wrote it! The second is a cover of one of my all-time favorite songs, ‘You’ll Be In My Heart’ by Phil Collins,” the singer-songwriter continued.

The songs are part of Spotify Singles, a program that allows artists to re-record one of their songs as well as a cover from musicians they admire.

In “Before,” NIKI’s voice was accompanied by a guitar, a contrast to the original’s strong drums.

In her version of “You’ll Be in My Heart,” NIKI gave her signature soulful vocals alongside a pop beat.

NIKI released her latest heart-wrenching album “Nicole” in August. — LA, GMA News
