SEVENTEEN's Mingyu to skip some group activities as he tests positive for COVID-19

SEVENTEEN's Mingyu has been diagnosed with COVID-19.

According to a statement from PLEDIS Entertainment, Mingyu suffered from a mild sore throat on Friday, and is currently under self-quarantine in Los Angeles.

Earlier, fellow member Dino also tested positive for COVID-19.

PLEDIS said that the rest of the members are "not experiencing any extraordinary symptoms."

It added that SEVENTEEN's scheduled concerts will continue without changes in the schedule.

"However, in compliance with the local preventive guidelines, 11 members will be participating in the Houston show on Saturday, the 20th, without DINO and MINGYU and 12 members will be participating in the Fort Worth show on Tuesday, the 23rd, without MINGYU," it said.

"We will continue to provide support for the rapid recovery of MINGYU, placing our highest priority on the health and safety of our artists," it added.

SEVENTEEN is currently on their “Be the Sun” world tour. They are set to perform in Manila on October 8 and 9.

This year, they released their “Face the Sun” and “Sector 17” albums. —JCB, GMA News
