Super Junior’s Siwon tests positive for COVID-19, to skip Manila concert
Siwon of Super Junior had tested positive for COVID-19 and he would not be able to participate in the group’s Manila concert, Label SJ announced on Wednesday.
According to an English translation, Siwon tested positive following a PCR test “while preparing for overseas schedules.”
“So we ask for your understanding that [he] can’t participate in the [Super Junior World Tour – Super Show 9 : Road In Manila] concert that was scheduled this week,” the record label said.
It added that Siwon halted all his schedules and was in self-quarantine according to authority guidelines.

“We will faithfully support Siwon’s rapid recovery by considering the health and safety of the artist as the top priority.”
In another statement by concert producers Pulp Live World, members Leeteuk, Yesung, Shindong, Eunhyuk, Donghae, Ryeowook, and Kyuhun will participate in the concert as scheduled.
Their statement also said Siwon tested positive after their concert in Bangkok, Thailand.

To be held on Aug. 6 at SM Mall of Asia Arena, #SS9inManila will be the group’s sixth solo concert in the Philippines. Super Junior’s last show here was in December 2019 at the same venue.
Part of the K-Pop industry’s second generation of idol groups, Super Junior are considered Hallyu legends. They are behind the hits “Sorry Sorry,” “Lo Siento,” and “Black Suit.”
The group released their comeback single and music video “Don’t Wait” on June 29, and their 11th album “The Road: Keep on Going” on July 12, which includes the track “Mango.” – RC, GMA News
