'Have a safe flight' trends as BTS departs for US

BTS fans took to twitter to send the global superstars their well wishes as they departed for the United States on Sunday. 

As of this writing, "Have a safe flight, BTS" is among the trending topics on Philippine Twitter.

While some expressed pride for the seven members, others shared photos and clips of them at the airport.

BTS is headed to the United States to meet with President Joe Biden at the White House on May 31.

They will discuss "Asian inclusion and representation" and "address anti-Asian hate crimes and discrimination which have become more prominent issues in recent years."

Last year, BTS also made headlines when they attended the United Nations General Assembly with leaders from all over the world.
