Dingdong Dantes, Marian Rivera consider their new sitcom 'Jose & Maria's Bonggang Villa' as a dream come true

Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera consider their new sitcom titled "Jose & Maria's Bonggang Villa" as a dream come true.

In a press launch and contract signing held at the Luxent Hotel on Monday, the Kapuso Primetime Royalties shared their thoughts on their new project.

"Hindi lang siya isang trabaho or isang task as an actor, it’s also very very personal for us kasi dream namin ‘to eh," Dingdong said during the event.

Aside from being the lead stars of the show, the couple will also be co-producing the show.

"Bukod sa makasama namin ang isa’t isa ulit, dream din namin na makabilang sa isang show na we are also a part of through co-producing and creating," he added.

According to Dingdong, the idea of "Jose at Maria's Bonggang Villa" stemmed from the short videos they had been doing and producing at home early in the pandemic.

"Nung nagsimula ang pandemic two years ago nag-simula kami mag-shoot ng small videos sa bahay na ang title ay "Jose at Maria" at doon ko na-realize grabe ang sarap talaga pa rin katrabaho ni Marian at 'yun 'yung palaging sinasabi ng maraming tao," he said.

"At nagreminisce ako sa mga araw nung nakilala ko siya which was around 2007 sa 'Marimar,' sobrang professional, sobrang galing at kahit dun sa mini videos na ginagawa namin ganoon pa rin yung dedication niya," he added.

A collaboration between GMA-7, APT, and DongYan

Dingdong said he is grateful to APT for acknowledging and trusting the concept they started at home.

"I’m very grateful to APT,  I’m very grateful for the trust, thank you for building on the idea at dahil doon nanganak yung tahanan namin sa mas magandang konsepto which is Bonggang Villa," he said.

Dingdong also expressed his gratitude to GMA-7 for trusting them with this new project this time not just actors but also as co-producers.

Meanwhile,  First Vice President for Program Management Jose Mari R. Abacan said, "I worked with Dingdong and Marian as actors and this time it's very exciting because we're going to hear their creative inputs," he said.

"Of course, it's not new to me that we're actually doing this with APT kasi kami nila Mike we've been working with each other but this time it's with Dingdong and Marian," he added.

"We're going to see a product that is going to be a collaboration between GMA, APT, and of course Marian and Dingdong."

APT Entertainment CEO Michael Tuviera said, "noong unang nag-usap kami ni Dong actually it was last year pa meron na silang idea on what to do, sobra akong na-inspire kasi I’ve been wanting to work with them  for the longest time as producers also as co-producers."

"I think first time [nila] ulit to be together on screen in 10 years more than 10 years, so it’s siuch a big honor for APT to be partnering with GMA and of course and for the first as co-producers and not just as lead stars," he added.

Michael Tuviera said they are looking forward to this journey, "Sana everyday taping nakikita niyo kasi sobrang saya ng set and it’s mainly because of these two."

Meanwhile, GMA Films President and programming consultant to the chairman Anette Gozon-Valdes said, "We’ve always loved working with APT and mas special tong project na ‘to kasi siyempre pagbibidahan ng aming pinakamamahal na Primetime King and Queen ng GMA."

"And what’s even more special about this is partners na rin namin sila dito sa programang ito so I’m sure sabik na ang sabik na ang lahat na mapanuod sila back in the small screen or television at magkasama pa ang dalawang pinaka talented at sikat na artista ng Pilipinas," she added.
