Meat Loaf, ‘I’d Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That)’ singer, dies at 74
Rock superstar and "I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)" singer Meat Loaf, also known as Marvin Aday, has passed away. He was 74.
The singer’s official Facebook page confirmed that the music legend died Thursday surrounded by his family and close friends.
"We know how much he meant to so many of you and we truly appreciate all of the love and support as we move through this time of grief in losing such an inspiring artist and beautiful man," it said.
"We thank you for your understanding of our need for privacy at this time. From his heart to your souls … don’t ever stop rocking!"
Meat Loaf, whose career spanned over six decades, sold millions of albums worldwide. Known for his hit album "Bat Out of Hell," Meat Loaf also starred on "Fight Club" and "Rocky Horror Picture Show."
He is survived by his wife Deborah Gillespie and two daughters Pearl and Amanda.
