Actress Jada Pinkett Smith bares bald spot amid struggles with alopecia
Amid her struggles with alopecia, Jada Pinkett Smith bared her closely-shaved head for all the world to see.
The actress posted a video on Instagram, showing the distinctive bald spot on top of scalp, saying that it showed up "all of a sudden one day."
"This is gonna be a little bit more difficult to hide, so I thought I'd just share it, so y'all won't ask any questions," she said.
In the caption, she said, "Mama’s gonna have to take it down to the scalp so nobody thinks she got brain surgery or something."
However, she remained positive, adding, "Me and this alopecia are going to be friends … period!"
Alopecia is an autoimmune disease that attacks hair follicles and causes hair to fall out.
Smith first opened up about losing hair in 2018.
