BTS to go on extended period of rest
BTS is planning to take some time off for a short while.
According to a December 6 announcement from Big Hit Music, the group will begin an official extended period of rest after completing scheduled events for “BTS Permission to Dance On stage” and the “2021 Jingle Ball Tour.”
“This period of rest will provide the members of BTS who have tirelessly committed themselves to their activities, a chance to get re-inspired and recharge with creative energy,” the statement said, as published by Soompi.
“We kindly ask once again that you show consideration for their need to enjoy ordinary and free, everyday lives while solely concentrating on themselves, albeit for a short while, during their period of rest."
According to Soompi, This will be BTS’s second extended break following their first in 2019.
Big Hit said the group will be “focused on preparing for the concert and release of the new album that will mark the beginning of a ‘new chapter’.”
The statement also said the group was “preparing for a concert this coming March to connect and communicate with the fans in-person in Seoul.”
BTS achieved massive success as top global artists while staying active in 2020 and 2021 amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
Apart from winning several prestigious awards, the group had topped multiple international charts and collaborated with some of music’s biggest names like Coldplay and Ed Sheeran.
BTS recently made history at the 2021 American Music Awards (AMAs), and they have just received their second Grammy nomination.
