According to a Soompi report Tuesday, the South Korean hottie will be starring in "Harbin, a new movie by "The Man Standing Next" director Woo Min Ho.

"Harbin" is set in the early 1900s in Harbin, the capital of China's northernmost province Heilongjiang and revolves around the tale of Korean independence activists who risked their lives to get back their homeland.

Hyun Bin is set to portray the role of a man who lives with the loneliness of being in a generation where their motherland has been taken from them.

Aside from showing numerous action-packed scenes, the actor is set to express the turmoil of putting one's life on the line for the independence fight.

"Harbin," which will include camera director Hong Kyung Po who worked on "Parasite" and "Snowpiercer," is scheduled to begin filming in 2022.

"The Negotiation" and "Secret Garden" actor Hyun Bin skyrocketed to international fame after he starred in the 2020 record-breaking drama series "Crash Landing On You," a love story between a South Korean billionaire heiress and a North Korean army officer.
