Gal Gadot to star as Evil Queen in Disney’s ‘Snow White’ live-action film–report
Gal Gadot is reportedly set to star as the Evil Queen in Disney’s “Snow White” live-action movie.
The Israeli actress is already in final negotiations with the film’s team, according to a report by Deadline Wednesday.
Gal also shared the news on her Instagram stories, Thursday, by posting a screenshot of the report and adding an Evil Queen sticker.
Gadot, who also played the superhero “Wonder Woman,” would be joining “West Side Story” star Rachel Zegler, who was announced for the title role in June.
Produced by Marc Platt, the upcoming film would expand the story and music from the original. Songs for the film will be written by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the Oscar and Tony-winning pair behind “La la Land,” “The Greatest Showman,” and “Dear Evan Hansen.”
The 1938 “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” animated film, which is based on the Brothers Grimm fairytale, tells the story of a princess who escapes from an evil queen envious of her beauty.
As she is hunted down, she takes refuge in the home of seven dwarfs.
Production for the Disney live-action film is expected to start next year. – Franchesca Viernes/RC, GMA News
