Taylor Swift pays tribute to Carole King at Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction

Taylor Swift paid tribute to music legend Carole King at the 36th annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony this weekend.
The pop superstar kicked off the ceremony with a cover of the 2021 inductee's hit song “Will You Love Me Tomorrow” in a black, skin-tight lace body suit and a gorgeous wavy hairstyle.
According to Rolling Stone, King was seen wiping away tears as she watched Swift perform.
During her speech, King thanked Swift for her "awesome performance" and “carrying the torch forward.”
“I keep hearing it, so I guess I’m going to have to try to own it, that today’s female singers and songwriters stand on my shoulders,” she was quoted as saying.
"Let it not be forgotten that they also stand on the shoulders of … Miss Aretha Franklin."
King is only the third woman to be twice-inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
The music icon, who is also famous for her hits like “You’ve Got a Friend” and “It’s Too Late,” was honored by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990 alongside her ex-husband and songwriting partner Gerry Goffin.
This also isn’t the first time King crossed paths with Swift.
Back in 2019, King previously presented the young superstar with the American Music Award for artist of the decade.
“Over the years, I have known some great songwriters and I have also known some great singers and performers,” King said on the telecast.
“It’s rare to see all those talents in one person… She is one of the only modern pop artists whose name (sometimes) appears as the sole songwriter in her song credits. Her lyrics resonate across all generations, her songs touch everyone and her impact around the world is extraordinary.” — Margaret Claire Layug/LA, GMA News
