Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik split up amid controversy involving supermodel's mother
Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik have split up.
The news surfaced amid allegations that Zayn struck Gigi's mother Yolanda during an argument, which the singer denied.
In a statement to People, Gigi's representative said the supermodel was focusing on their child Khai.
"Gigi is solely focused on the best for Khai. She asks for privacy during this time," they said.
In a statement on Twitter, Zayn said he'd decided not to "contest claims" that arose after he had an argument with a member of Gigi's family, whom he said entered their home while she was away several weeks ago.

While Zayn didn't name names, TMZ had reported that Zayn had a supposed altercation with Yolanda.
Zayn and Gigi first sparked romance rumors in 2015. They broke up in 2018, but confirmed that they were back together in January 2020.
