Kim Seon Ho apologizes to ex-girlfriend following forced abortion controversy
Kim Seon Ho has issued an apology statement after getting embroiled in a controversy involving his supposed former girlfriend.
Through his agency Salt Entertainment, the "Start-Up" actor confirmed that he had been seeing the anonymous woman, hiding under the name "A," who had accused "K" of forcing her to have an abortion on false promise of marriage.
Although the post, which was shared online on October 18, did not mention any names, many have speculated that the actor in question was Kim Seon Ho.
Seon Ho's agency issued a statement neither denying nor confirming the accusations saying they are checking facts.
On October 20, Seon Ho shared a letter, apologizing for the "belated statement," and explaining that he had "experienced a fear" that he felt for the first time upon seeing his name getting mentioned in the reports.
"I was seeing her with good emotions. In that process, I hurt her due to my carelessness and inconsiderate actions," he said.
"I wanted to meet and apologize to her directly, but I am not able to properly convey the apology now and am waiting for that time to come. For now, I would like to genuinely apologize to her through this statement," he added.
The actor also apologized for disappointing those who "trusted and supported [him] until the end."
"It was all thanks to those who supported me that I was able to become the actor Kim Seon Ho, but I had forgotten that. I apologize for causing trouble to my co-stars and all of the related staff who worked with me due to my flaws. I would like to sincerely apologize to everyone who was hurt," he said.
"I am aware that this rambling statement will not fully reach your hearts, but I am still attempting to convey my sincere thoughts. I am very sorry," he added.
Meanwhile, Salt Entertainment also issued a separate statement apologizing for the matter.
"We apologize for causing concern to many with actor Kim Seon Ho’s personal matters. We would like to apologize to all those who were disappointed and troubled by this issue. Once again, we apologize for worrying you with an unpleasant matter," they said.
