Lea Salonga to appear in HBO’s ‘Pretty Little Liars’ reboot

Lea Salonga has been confirmed to appear in HBO Max’s “Pretty Little Liars” reboot!

According to Deadline, the renowned Filipino actress has been cast to play Elodie, the mother of the character Minnie (played by Malia Pyles).

The show also stars Filipino-American actress Sharon Leal who appeared in the movie “Dreamgirls” starring Beyonce, Jennifer Hudson and Jamie Foxx.

“Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin” takes place twenty years after “a series of tragic events almost ripped the blue-collar town of Millwood apart.”

Much like the original, the new story centers on a group of teenage girls who find themselves tormented by an unknown individual and made to “pay for the secret sin their parents committed two decades ago…as well as their own.”

Lea also shared the news on her Instagram, saying "The moms have descended upon the town of Millwood! And we have secrets and lies of our own (can’t let the children have all the fun)!" 

"So excited to be part of the cast of Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin!" she added.

Apart from Lea, Shannon and Malia, the show also stars Chandler Kinney, Maia Reficco, Bailee Madison, Zaria, Alex Aiono, Mallory Bechtel, Eric Johnson, Elena Goode, Carly Pope, and Zakiya Young. — Margaret Claire Layug/LA, GMA News
