Veteran South Korean actress Kim Min Kyung passes away
Veteran South Korean actress Kim Min Kyung passed away on Monday. She was 61 years old.
According to a Soompi report, her agency, DaHong Entertainment, confirmed the news on Tuesday.
"Kim Min Kyung passed away yesterday (August 16)," the agency said.
Her funeral is set to take place on Wednesday.
With an acting career that spanned more than 40 years, Kim Min Kyung became a well-known actress in the South Korean showbiz industry.
She would often play the role of the "long-suffering but understanding" mother.
She is known for her roles in "The Moon Embracing the Sun," "When the Camellia Blooms," "VIP," "Mouse" and "A Good Supper."
Her latest films "Spiritwalker" and "1947 Boston" are yet to be released.
The cause of her death is yet to be announced.
