Olivia Rodrigo meets U.S. President Joe Biden, encourages youth to get vaccinated

Olivia Rodrigo just met US President Joe Biden in the flesh!

The Fil-Am pop sensation snapped a photo with the American Commander-in-Chief, while visiting the White House. She was tapped by the government to help encourage young people to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

“Had the absolute honor of visiting the White House today and chatting with [President Joe Biden] about the importance of getting vaccinated!” Olivia said in a social media post.

“Even if you are young and not immunocompromised, getting your covid vaccination is the best thing you can do for your health and your loved ones’ health,” she added.

“YOU have the power to save lives. check out vaccines.gov to learn more about vaccinations and to find a vaccination center near you (it’s free and super easy),” she continued.

Olivia also thanked President Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, chief Covid-19 medical adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci, and everybody who have “done their part in helping end this pandemic.”

She ended her post in all caps: “EVERYONE GET VAXED IT’S SO IMPORTANT.”

Olivia also got to deliver a message from the official White House press briefing room podium.

"I am beyond honored and humbled to be here today to help spread the message about the importance of youth vaccination," Rodrigo was quoted as saying in a CNN report.

"I'm in awe of the work President Biden and Dr. Fauci have done and was happy to help lend my support to this important initiative. It's important to have conversations with friends and family members encouraging all communities to get vaccinated, and actually get to a vaccination site, which you can do more easily than ever before, given how many sites we have and how easy it is to find them at vaccines.gov,” she added.

On his Instagram account meanwhile, Biden shared a series of snaps with Olivia as they put on their sunnies and give a thumbs up.

"Thanks for stopping by, Olivia, and for using your voice to urge young people to get vaccinated. If we all do our part and get the COVID-19 vaccine, we can defeat this virus once and for all. Let’s do this," he wrote in the caption.
