'School of Rock' star Kevin Clark dies after getting hit by car


"School of Rock" star Kevin Clark has died after a road accident in Chicago. He was 32.

Police told Chicago Sun-Times that Clark was biking in a neighborhood when he was struck by a Hyundai Sonata at 1:20 a.m.

Paramedics took Clark to Illinois Masonic Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 2:04 a.m.

The 20-year old driver of the vehicle was issued citations in response to the incident and was released.

Clark's on-screen mentor and "School of Rock" co-actor, Jack Black, expressed his grief over Clark's passing.

He wrote, "Devastating news. Kevin is gone. Way too soon. Beautiful soul. So many great memories. Heartbroken. Sending love to his family and the whole School of Rock community."

Clark is known for his role in the 2003 film "School of Rock," where he played as drummer Freddy "Spazzy McGee" Jones. —Kaela Malig/JCB, GMA News
