BTS graces June cover of Rolling Stone magazine

BTS appears on the June cover of Rolling Stone magazine!

The announcement was made Thursday on the magazine’s social media accounts.

The cover shows the members—RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook—facing the camera while looking through a glass door.

“Inside the boundary-smashing global success and musical evolution of the world’s biggest band—and what’s next,” said the magazine’s Twitter account.

An excerpt from the cover story titled “The Triumph of BTS” read: “BTS’ magical levels of charisma, their genre-defying, sleek-but-personal music—every bit of it feels like a visitation from some brighter, more hopeful timeline.”

Describing the band, it said: “The group as a whole shares a penchant for weighty themes, basing an album cycle on Jungian psychology, brilliantly using Pluto’s loss of full-planet status as a romantic metaphor on the song ‘134340,’ lacing music videos with a labyrinthine ongoing storyline.”

Rolling Stone called the issue a “groundbreaking release,” saying BTS was “the first all-Asian act to appear on the cover of the magazine in its 54-year history, further proving the power and influence of the group.”

According to the magazine, it will be publishing digital covers featuring exclusive interviews with each member.

It also said it would be releasing a “collector’s edition box set” featuring one group and seven individual covers with the BTS members “posing solo for their own Rolling Stone feature.”

The Grammy-nominated and Billboard chart-topping group BTS will release its new single titled “Butter” on May 21.

They will perform the new song from South Korea on May 23 at Billboard Music Awards, where they are nominated for four awards: top group, top song sales artist, top social artist, and top selling song for “Dynamite.” – RC, GMA News
