‘Grey’s Anatomy’ renewed for Season 18


It’s official: “Grey’s Anatomy” is getting a new season!

The announcement was made on the show’s social media accounts, Tuesday, with a video of Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) looking happy, smiling from ear to ear.

The 10-second video also read: “Congratulations on Season 18.” The caption, meanwhile, gave such a cute and celebratory reference to the show.

“Someone grab me a crash cart because [‘Grey’s Anatomy’] is coming back for Season 18!” it said with four party popper emojis.

As of writing, the post has garnered over 61,000 reactions, 27,000 comments and 17,000 shares from fans who are excited to see what’s next for the show’s characters.

According to a Variety report, apart from Ellen, original cast members Chandra Wilson (Miranda Bailey) and James Pickens Jr. (Richard Webber) are also returning for Season 18.

Jesse Williams (Jackson Avery), meanwhile, will be leaving the show after the finale of Season 17, according to an E! Online report.
