Seo Ye Ji's agency confirms her withdrawal from upcoming drama series after controversy with Kim Jung Hyun
"It's Okay To Not Be Okay" star Seo Ye Ji will no longer be starring in the upcoming drama series "Island" after controversy erupted about her and "Crash Landing on You" actor Kim Jung Hyun.
According to a Soompi report on Wednesday, Seo Ye Ji's agency GOLDMEDALIST confirmed her withdrawal. They said, "A mutual final decision has been made for Seo Ye Ji to not star in 'Island.'"
The actress was first reported to be in talks for the drama series last October.
"Island," where Kim Nam Gil has been confirmed to play a role in, revolves around the secrets on Jeju Island and Goblins aiming to destroy humans.
Seo Ye Ji was initially offered the role of Won Mi Ho, the daughter of a rich family targeted by goblins.
In April, it was reported that the actress allegedly controlled Kim Jung Hyun's behavior when he worked on his 2018 drama "Time." Both actors have since then released statements following the controversy.
