Actress Candy Pangilinan among Catholic social media influencer awardees
Actress Candy Pangilinan has been named female social media influencer at the recently concluded 2020 Catholic Social Media Awards, according to a post on the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) website.
Pangilinan has been posting video blogs about her family, particularly her 16-year-old son Quentin.
A single mom, she said that the difficult times has strengthened her faith.
“I hope we continue to pray for each other. May I be able to continue to inspire, affect and infect people that at the end of the day, there’s God who loves us more than we love ourselves,” she was quoted as saying.
Meanwhile, the male social media influencer awardee was Fr. Joseph Fidel Roura of the Malolos diocese who has about 2.1 million followers of his Facebook page.
The parish priest of Quasi-Parish of Our Lady of La Salette at the Muzon village of San Jose del Monte town also maintains a Youtube channel for his vlogs, reflections and archives of his homilies.
“This award is an added inspiration for me to continue what I’m doing. I will take care of this trust that you’ve given me. I will not just accept you, I will hold on to it for the rest of my life,” Roura said.
