BTS’ ‘Dynamite' breaks record on Billboard’s Digital Song Sales Chart

BTS isn’t done conquering the world!

“Dynamite,” BTS' first english song, is still No. 1 for 18 straight weeks, breaking the record for most weeks spent at the top spot on Billboard’s Digital Song Sales Chart.

According to a Billboard report, the song debuted at No. 1 in September 2020 and since its release in August, has sold 1.5 million downloads.

They added that the song’s various versions, including the physical ones available on cassette and CD, benefited the group in terms of sales.

“Dynamite” overtook “Despacito” by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee featuring Justin Bieber which spent 17 weeks at the top spot.

In March, Guinness World Records revealed that BTS had officially claimed the record for the “most simultaneous viewers for a music video on YouTube Premieres.”

As of writing, #DynamiteRecordBreaker is the top trending topic on Philippine Twitter with more than 95,500 tweets.

The music video, meanwhile, has reached 983,233,667 views. Congratulations, BTS! — Franchesca Viernes/LA, GMA News
