EXO member Baekhyun to enlist in May
EXO member Baekhyun is scheduled to enlist next month.
According to a Soompi report on Friday, Baekhyun and his agency SM Entertainment have confirmed that he will start his military service on May 6, which also happens to be his birthday.
“This isn’t a permanent separation,” Baekhyun told his followers in a fan community app.
“So instead of endlessly waiting for me and missing me and being sad during the brief time that we’re apart, I’m going to try various methods for us to feel like we’re spending time together, even if it’s in a different form!” he said.
“I’m going to work harder and prepare lots of things! I know how hard it is to wait, so instead of asking you to wait, I want to tell you that I love you!”

Although it confirmed the date of Baekhyun’s enlistment, SM Entertainment said that the time and location would be “private” and there would be “no special events” in preparation for it.
Upon his enlistment, the K-pop idol will undergo three weeks of basic training and complete his military service as a public service worker.
In March, Baekhyun had a solo comeback with the release of his song “Bambi” along with his third mini-album of the same name.
Prior to the release, he announced that he would be enlisting by the end of March.
