Ji Soo shares handwritten apology letter amid school violence allegations
Ji Soo has issued a public apology in response to allegations of school violence.
The South Korean actor, known for his roles in dramas like “Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo” and “Strong Girl Bong-soon,” posted a handwritten letter on social media.
“I sincerely apologize to the people who suffered because of me,” read the message written in Korean, according to Soompi.
“There is no excuse for my past misconduct. They were things that cannot be forgiven.”
Ji Soo’s letter mentioned how he built a career while “feeling guilty” over his past, and how he planned to reflect on his actions.
“I always felt crushed by my dark past,” he said.
“I want to express my deep atonement to the people who must have suffered for a long time while watching me go about my work as an actor, and I will reflect on and repent my past, which can never be washed away, for the rest of my life.”
The actor sought forgiveness from certain unnamed individuals as well as the team behind his current K-drama “River Where the Moon Rises,” where he plays the lead character.
“I am tormented and feel guilty about the fact that I have inflicted tremendous damage upon the network, producers, actors, and all of the staff who have been quietly working hard on the drama set. I desperately hope that the drama does not see further damage because of me,” he said.
“Upon my knees, I sincerely apologize to everyone who has been hurt by me.”
According to an earlier Soompi report, someone on social media has claimed that he and Ji Soo were school mates in middle school.
The author said the actor was a known bully who was part of a school gang, and that he was personally trampled on, beaten up, and cursed at.
Accusations against Ji Soo also involved him allegedly shooting other students with a BB gun.
