'The Great Gatsby' to get animated film adaptation!
Renowned classic "The Great Gatsby" is now set to get its own animated film adaptation!
According to The Hollywood Reporter on Monday, F. Scott Fitzgerald's 1925 novel will be animated by no less than VFX house DNEG, the production house behind Christopher Nolan's "Tenet."
William Joyce is set to become the adaptation's director with Brian Selznick as the writer, and Michael Siegal and DNEG Senior Vice President of Creative Production David Prescott join Joyce as the film's producers.
"The Great Gatsby" is set during the Jazz Age and revolves around the story of Jay Gatsby, a mysterious millionaire known to throw lavish parties. He begins an affair with his former lover Daisy, who happens to be wed to another person.
Fitzgerald's novel has since then been adapted many times for film and television. One of the most notable adaptations was in 1974 with Robert Redford playing as Gatsby and Mia Farrow as Daisy.
The most recent adaptation is that of Leonardo DeCaprio and Carey Mulligan in 2016, which won multiple Oscars.
A release date for the animated feature and the start of its production is yet to be announced. — Kaela Malig/LA, GMA New
