‘Game of Thrones’ star Pedro Pascal to star in upcoming ‘The Last of Us’ series

Pedro Pascal has been cast to play Joel in “The Last of Us,” HBO’s upcoming series adapted from the popular post-apocalyptic video game series.

According to Deadline, the Chilean-American actor will be joined by fellow “Game of Thrones” star Bella Ramsay, who has been cast to play Ellie.

“The Last of Us” is based on a 2013 action-adventure game that takes place 20 years after a mysterious virus wipes out humanity and destroys the world.

Deadline says the HBO series will follow Ellie and Joel as they traverse across a zombie-ravaged United States to a laboratory where a cure is being developed.

Pedro Pascal rose to prominence for portraying Oberyn Martell in the HBO fantasy series “Game of Thrones,” whereas Bella Ramsay played the young Lady of Bear Island, Lyanna Mormont.
