'The King: Eternal Monarch' actress Kim Go Eun to star in new drama adaptation of hit webtoon - report
"The King: Eternal Monarch" actress Kim Go Eun is set to star in a new drama adaptation of a hit webtoon.
According to a Soompi report on Thursday, the South Korean actress will be taking the lead role in "Yumi's Cells," an upcoming drama based on the hit webtoon of the same name.
Kim Go Eun is set to play the titular role of Yumi, an officer worker who struggles to express her feelings and yet her story will be told from the point of view of her brain cells controlling her emotions.
"I think the reason that the love story of the ordinary woman Yumi was able to make so many people laugh and cry over such a long period of time was because of how relatable it was. I’m looking forward to her future journey," the actress said in a statement.
Aside from her hit drama series with Lee Min Ho, Kim Go Eun is also known for her role in "Guardian: The Lonely and Great God" with Gong Yoo.
The upcoming series "Yumi's Cells," directed by Lee Sang Yeob, will begin its taping in the first half of 2021.
