BTS' Suga to take break from scheduled activities after shoulder surgery, writes heartfelt letter to ARMY
BTS member Suga said he will be taking a break from scheduled activities after his shoulder surgery, a Soompi report said.
Suga updated his fans on his current condition with a heartfelt letter he wrote to the group's fan base ARMY on Weverse, which Soompi translated to English.
"Hello, this is Suga. After the announcement, many people were worried and so I’m sorry and really grateful," he began in his letter.
The surgery went well, Suga said, adding that he does feel some pain but over all, he was "very relieved."
"Since I perform as part of my job, I tried to avoid the surgery as much as I could and endured with rehabilitation and shots," he added.
But it kept getting worse whenever he performed, "so after three out of four hospitals said that it would be good to do the surgery considering my condition, I had the surgery.. (I really agonized over it a lot..!)," he said.
Suga announced that he "won’t be able to take part in scheduled activities for the time being, so I feel sorry toward the members and to ARMY."
"I think it’s such a shame too.. I’ll be away for a bit so that I can recover as soon as possible, but I’ll be back soon. It won’t be that long! Once again, I’m sorry and thank you, ARMY!" he added.
BTS' agency Big Hit Entertainment announced on Weverse on Friday that BTS member Suga underwent surgery to repair his torn shoulder labrum on Nov. 3.
Apart from releasing a new album later this month, BTS is also scheduled to perform at the American Music Awards (AMAs) on Nov. 23 (Philippine time) and at Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) on Dec. 6. — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
